In 2004, along with the Honourable James (Jim) Chadwick and Brian Parnega, Wally established Ottawa Dispute Resolution Group Inc. (ODRG) to further his mediation and arbitration practice.

In August 2020, Wally was inducted into the Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, an invitation-only professional association whose membership consists of mediators and arbitrators distinguished by their hands-on experience in the field of civil and commercial dispute resolution. He brings over 45 years of labour and employment, civil, and commercial litigation experience to his role as a mediator and arbitrator.

Areas of Law Practice

Wally commenced his law practice in 1973 with the Ottawa law firm of Burke-Robertson, LLP, becoming a partner in 1976. He practiced with that firm until 2004 when he, along with Brian Parnega established the boutique litigation firm of Parnega • Langley LLP.

In June 2020, Wally joined the firm of Sevigny Dupuis LLP, a labour and employment law firm serving Ottawa, its surrounding communities, and Eastern Ontario.

His practice is concentrated in the areas of employment law and labour relations matters and commercial litigation. Wally has appeared extensively before the Ontario and Canada Labour Relations Board, Arbitration Tribunals and all levels of Courts in the Province of Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada. Included in the scope of his practice are the areas of employment contract and wrongful dismissal actions, human rights complaints, grievance arbitrations and alternate dispute resolution of employment matters along with acting on behalf of both Plaintiffs and Defendants in commercial litigation matters.
